GREAT BALI COOKING COURSE

The drive from Kembali villas to Ubud is around 90 minutes.  On arrival be greeted by your cooking school hosts  husband & wife team Wayan & Puspa  of “Paon  Bali Cooking Class”

First Puspa will conduct you on a  early morning tour of the Ubud market. Well I have been into that market probably 20 + times in the last 8 years & was shown parts of the Ubud market & had explained things that I never knew existed.. Believe me you will be impressed.

After the market we went to Wayan & Puspa’s home (10 minute drive) where we were given a refreshing drink & were fitted with aprons to begin the course proper. We then received a full explanation of the food menu we would be preparing & ingredients we would be using.

After chopping, slicing, grinding paste etc & then cooking, we finally produced 4 mouth watering delicious Balinese/Indonesian meals in a simple practical way in less than no time at all. This  was followed by dessert

From past experiences,  Baliese/Indonesian cooking can be difficult & very time consuming.

However the way we were instructed to prepare & cook the food was simple, enjoyable & done quickly. The tour, preparing, cooking & eating the lunch took 4 hours. After lunch we visited a rice paddy field where the growing of rice & harvesting was explained. Again fascinating.

Having spent the morning at the cooking school we now had the rest of the day to explore Ubud & the surrounding area, ultimately getting back to the villas around 4
